My User:Lorenzarius/monobook.css works fine (now my background of the content is all red! screenshot). Actually you don't have to copy & paste the whole default monobook.css and edit it, just put the lines that you want to change in your personal monobook.css is okay. It is because the software would apply your monobook.css over the default monobook.css, overwriting the default formatting with your own change.
As for myskin.css, well it is really your skin, so it has no default and is empty (thus the no format page you've seen). With myskin.css you can apply your own css, totally different from any of the default ones, to this site. However as there's no default myskin.css, there will be no formatting and you need to write the whole css file (User:Lorenzarius/myskin.css screenshot). Your can put your myskin.css as your user page subpage like monobook.css, i.e. User:Cobaye/myskin.css. --Lorenzarius 05:44, 28 Jan 2005 (CET)
