Mr. Unknown is the guy owning the hugest empire in the Astrowars Galaxy. Well, let's stop joking: If you see some planet to be owned by Unknown, this just means, that its former owner resigned. The unknown player has some neutral Race and an overall science level of zero (thus giving you some fighting bonus). If a player becomes Unknown does his fleet disappear? If it is sitting at a planet - no, if it was in transit it does. This applies to transports and colony ships left as well. But it really doesn't matter because you gain no experience from destroying colony ships and transports. You only get the experience from destroying a Destroyer, Cruiser, Battleship, and/or Starbase, also the transports and colony ships can do nothing when sitting and therefore are no threat.

Do unknown planets keep generating Production Points after abandonment? No, all you get is 10% of the Production Points from the former owner up to a maximum of 500pp.

Yet, some say, that treasures might be found on the unknown planets. However, it does not happen very often.
