The Trade Screen allows you to undertake multiple profitable or diplomatic actions but in order to do this you will need to have a minimum Player Level of 1.

Buying

If you are at least Player Level 1 and you have enough money you can order Artifacts and/or Supply Units. The higher your Player Level the more Supply Units and Artifacts you can buy. The Maximum amount of Supply Units you can buy is directly proportional to your Player Level - if you are Player Level 1 you can hold up to a maximum of 1 Supply Units, if you are Player Level 8 you can hold up to a maximum of 8 Supply Units etc. To see which Player Level you need to attain to buy a particular Artifact, see the Artifacts page.

You can also buy Production Points - if you do then your highest population planet (at the top of your planets list) will get the points. However, this planet MUST have a Population of at least 5 and not be under siege to carry out this action. Although, if there is a planet further down the list that does meet requirements, you can buy PPs for that planet instead, but with a penalty: each sieged planet above incurs a 5% loss of the total PPs (i.e. if your top 5 planets are under siege, then you can buy PPs for your 6th but will lose 25%). Friendly Siege allows you to control where PPs are allocated to with help from others.

Selling

You can sell your assets to get Astro Dollars - when selling it will show up as a negative order. Production Points can be sold if you have more than 150 PPs in total. Then you can use "Spend All Points/Interstellar Trade". This exchanges all PPs on all Planets into Astro Dollars, even if they are under siege, although you lose 30%. The Spend All Points option can also be used to buy offensive ships or upgrade Starbases on all your unsieged planets - note that in doing this the total PPs across your empire will NOT be evenly distributed - instead it spends all the PPs on each planet on the option you select. ie. if you have 60pps on Planet 1; 25 on Planet 2; 65 on Planet 3 you would have enough cumulative points for exactly 5 Destroyers (at a cost of 30PP each). However you will actually get 2 Destroyers on Planet 1, 83% of a Destroyer on Planet 2 and 2 and 1/6 of a Destroyer on Planet 3 giving you a total of 4 complete Destroyers.

Between Planets

It is possible to move PPs from one planet to another. However, PPs can be lost in the process. One way is to use Colony Ships. This results in a 75% loss of PPs. The other way is to use Interstellar Trade. Simply Spend All your PPs and then buy them back as described above. This is useful if you need to build a big starbase on your main planet. To send PPs to a different planet, you need a siege (maybe from an alliance member or friend) on every planet with higher population, as shown on the Planets Screen.

Notes

  • In order for a Planet to receive PPs from trade it must have a Population of 5 or greater.
  • Your race bonus isn´t stated at the Trade Revenue but is also added to the bonus listed at the normal Science and Planet screens.
  • For Gold Edition II the selling and buying of Supply Units was disabled due to a bug.
