Starbase

Starbases (SB) are the backbone of a planets defense system, providing a high level of defense at a low cost, and have the advantage of being doubled when present in Combat Value Battle Predictions. In the best case scenario the starbase's maximum damage is twice its listed Defense Value.
Starbases are a static defence and provide a deterrent to incoming fleets as others can see the Starbase level for each planet. However, the higher the star base level, the more attention it may draw, as they are worth a lot of experience points.
Experienced players avoid building starbases unless necessary, relying on mobile fleet where possible.
The Production Point to Defense Value ratio is 2.5:1 (Sometimes doubled in Combat Value Battle Predictions).
