From Astro Wars
This page is accessed from the News screen and allows you to personalise various game options:
- Time Difference - by default the time you see in the title bar of your browser, on all news alerts and in the Arrival Time Calculator is the server time +1 hour. You can adjust this to match your local time if you wish. See Notes for details of Daylight Saving Time.
- Glossary Language - the help pages are available in five different languages. You can select which one you prefer to see when you click the Glossary link on the Help page. The default language version is English.
- ICQ - if you use ICQ you can enter your number here. This will then be displayed in the profile linked to your in-game name so other players can contact you.
- Premium Membership Settings - if you subscribe as a Premium Member you have two additional settings. You may enter a Combat Value and an email address. You will then receive a notification at that address whenever a fleet with that level of CV or greater attacks you.
- Change Password - you may do this any time you wish. Note: this only changes your game login password, not your forum password!
- refer-a-friend-url - if you introduce friends to Astro Wars, give them this url to register with. This will link their account to yours and you will receive a daily culture bonus equal to their Player Level as a reward.
- Resign - if you wish to resign from the game before it has ended you may use this link, which will take you to a confirmation page. You must then click on the confirmation to cancel your resignation. Once you have resigned you may restart the game if you wish.
Notes
- For Daylight Saving Time, you will need to adjust the difference between server time and local time. In this game, Daylight Saving Time begins on the last Sunday in March at 01:00 GMT and ends on the last Sunday in October at 02:00 GMT.
- Once you have played the current round for two weeks you cannot resign if your ranking is in the top 1000 players.
- If you restart you will begin as if you never played, so all development and points are cancelled, and any race selection you made is reset. Doing this late in the game will put you at a disadvantage to the players who started before you.
