Honour:
An old fashioned value regarding the behavior of warring parties. While earlier versions existed, IE do not kill the diplomat (ancient Greece) and various religious rules forbade attacks between followers of that religion. War was seen as a brutal and complete endeavor.
The medieval ages reflected a growing unease with unlimited warfare that saw the beginning of the code of Honour. Basically it is how you fight your wars. By the late 20th century a large body of law had grown up covering actions from types of weapons used to method of declaring war.
The most pertinent for Astro-Wars is the declaration of War and how you treat your allies and NAP partners.
If you launch constant sneak attacks then those players will inform others and they will then plan, and launch sneak attacks on you. This effectively reduces its value as a weapon in your arsenal. So should be used carefully.
Starting a war without informing your allies. This may if you choose the wrong target result in you being abandoned by your allies and wiped out. As well your allies may begin to question your value.
After consultation agreeing to a war with your allies against another and doing nothing. This may supply some amusement but will result in loss of support from your allies which you may need at some stage.
You are only as good as your word. If other players consider your word worthless then they will not ally with you, enter into NAPs with you and plan your early destruction as you will be seen as a threat.
In short Honour is a weapon in your arsenal and should be protected.
