A ranker is a player whose aim in the game is to get his Overall Ranking as high as possible. Since the score of a player depends mainly on his population, a ranker is classically characterized by high growth (and then he is known as farmer).

But more and more players are putting emphasis on gaining their scores through increasing their Player Levels. A notable example of a non-farmer ranker is Mugathdem the winner of β10, whose alliance BSF used massive Friendly Attack tactics to give him Experience Points.
