Here is the QI alliance history (subjectively told by lamidore)

Beta 10 : QI is created. The war against SBR/HNU helped by BLA.

The alliance is created by fde, solend, strider, durf, lamidore and nieflh. Most of us are ex-ES player, but the main characteristic is that we are all IRL friends.

Unfortunately we logged near HNU which is a big alliance. QI is an unknown little alliance, therefore they aren't afraid of us. Moreover, they don't like strider, so the negotiation is quickly over. They attack nieflh, who is far from the 5 other players, and who (bad luck) has not a lot of time to play at the beginning. However, he resists well, even if he has to resign.

We make an alliance with BLA (some of us have good relation because we helped them in the past with ES) to attack SBR. The war is quite balanced, in spit of some big mistakes (the synchronisation of our actions with BLA is difficult in fact). And SBR looses opportunities to rank. ES (who still exists and is not too far away) comes to help, and HNU enters in the war. Most of us succeeds in reaching bio 23, and resist to keep some planet in the area.

At the end, HNU is about to win (in solo) and has 3 players int the top 10 solo. BSF/lutecefalco uses his huge fleet to attack. Meanwhile, we make actions (with our "little fleet") and attack their #2 and #3 ranker (with success, good popkilling).

GE 1: a war in the Core against HNU and GPS, helped by FRS.

We decide a log in the core to see what happen ;-) strider leaves us. fabz (IRL friend of durf) and kyocera (friend of fabz) come with us (they played with solend in ARMs alliance)

Bad luck: we are near HNU again, and near FRS (but this is normal in the core). HNU was impressed by our game on beta 10, so they propose us to collaborate against FRS. And FRS propose the same thing against HNU So we have to choose. It is very difficult, because we may have to sacrify players due to their position. Finally the result of the vote is for FRS. I am in the worst position (sharing my mother system with yosoyy and cranc) and i must resign early in the game. I start a new game in gamma zone, to come to help at the end if possible.

We recruit dblack who helps solend a lot and seems a good player. The war is very hard (the collaboration with FRS is finally difficult) and most of us finish without planet, especially after GPS joins the war after having farming all the beginning of the round.

GE 2: a break with nemo. war against LGT and CNN

After these two game, we decide to make a more calm game. We are near NEMO. Cavalier, who was in FRS previous game and plays NEMO, helps us to have the NAP with NEMO.

Ycon, an IRL friend of dblack, and akanath, an IRL friend of durf/fabz, join us. We recruit Wolffen and sidsuicide who are near us and who make good impression.

We make little local war against LGT, and at the end against CNN who makes good popkilling raids against us. Yet they make the error to give jump to ViP therefore NEMO attack them too.

At the end, NEMO is able to win in solo. Because we still have some middle-size fleet, we propose to NEMO to help them in static defence. Finally their ranker is killed in spite of our help.

GE 3: ESB project

Strider comes and tells us that old ES players want to try a special project. In fact, most of ex-ES players founded new alliances (ZOB, VIP, QI) and recruits new players. Therefore playing all under ES tags seems difficult now. So our idea is that our new alliances must still exist.

Our project is to make an alliance only composed of trader/fighter. The members will "rank" (and fight of course). They will come from each alliances. durf, strider, and kyocera will represent QI in the alliance (his name will be ESB for Empire Strikes Back).

The second idea of the project is that each alliance (ZOB,QI,VIP and ES which will be founded too) will have his own diplomacy. But any contract will have to include ESB too. The interest is that ESB will benefit of the friendship of the four alliances

Some AO players are interested by the project and join to it (in ESB or ES or VIP). Their help has been precious.

At the beginning, everything goes right, even if we have a lot of work in diplomacy (and fir3fox makes a great job...) Yet, our choices were maybe not good. We preferred to NAP "friends" instead of taking more care about "position". ESB reached a good rank, but we were unable to avoid the war against TNR and KK. So the project failed.

Yet QI had great battled, against SJ and Wink. coolkiwi joined us.

Finally, we signed a cease fire and attacked XXX with our remaining fleets. We did not destroy a lot, but it was a contribution to prevent them from winning the Gold.

I must add there was bugs during this game.


GE 4: the war against DHS/NAIN/KOtE

Big war during almost all the game. DHS shared a lot of our systems, and they used friendly siege a lot. Unfortunately, lots of them were locked because of abusing account sitting (to build SB)

NAIN and KOtE attacked us whereas we lost our fleets against DHS.

Most of us finished with 0 planet at the end.


GE 5: the war allied with RATS against BBA/DAT/FBSP

Very good game ! For once, we succeed in having a really good collaboration with an alliance (RATS), and the war is not too unbalanced. Great battle and Great fun for this game.


GE 6: the war with ZFP/AuA and XR against XL, SK, SJ, TNR

SK+SJ+TNR proposed to work with them. We were hesitating, but finally SJ attacked first, so more simple to decide. We decide quickly to work with ZFP (a little alliance, that we see quickly composed of ex-CRS undercover). AuA joins us in a collaboration against XL/SK/SJ/TNR.

Finally, we decide to include XR in our collaboration. Unfortunately we were little disappointed by XR. They played for victory (and succeed), but even if they help us a little against SJ, there was no real collaboration as we would have wanted (and did with RATS in GE 4).

Yet a really great fun battle, when SK attacked us and we break their fleets successfully. The game ends by big battle against TNR and some pop killing against them.


GE 7: the war with FFA against RTT/TKB/TEA

We meet some RATS again ! We have a good memory about our past collaboration so we nap them quickly. We wanted to collaborate with them to make a war against some surrounding alliances (TKB,...) But they tell us that they collaborate with TKB...and RTT...and TEA !!! This sound a lot for us, we don’t want a game with NAP with everybody. Finally we found an agreement with RATS. They stay neutral, but the collaboration is over. Hopefully, we find good allies in FFA alliance.

The game is fun, and we resist better than we thought, although our enemies were at least twice more. At the end, some alliance who farmed all the game (WAR against FFA, SeuX and TGP against us) come with big fleet.

Moreover, we are little tired, and most of us are less available due to IRL issues. So the end is little difficult. Finally very good game.

QI kept the first place in average player level during most of the game.
