OverviewNews Alerts for approximately the last seven days will appear on the News screen, presented five messages on each page. New alerts received since your last login are highlighted in red, older ones are shown in grey. They cover everything which affects your game, and can be divided into different areas of activity according to the type of information they provide. |
Announcements
These come from the admininistration team, and cover news about Astrowars in general, for example new features, server problems, failed logins, warnings about flooding, players reaching the countdown, and so on.

Message Alerts
These are notifications of Private Messages you receive from other players. Clicking on the subject of the alert will take you to your Inbox and display the message.

Attack Alerts
These warn of incoming attacks against your planets. If the alert does not show the number of ships in the fleet, this means it only contains Colony Ships, and does not include any war ships or Transports. Note: the number in brackets after the system name is its System ID. This helps you identify the system if it is not visible in your map screen.

Attack alerts are sent to your account as soon as the enemy fleet is launched, but will only appear on your News screen at the next 15 minute update following transmission, and you must login or refresh the News screen to see them. Note: the time shown is the estimated arrival time, not the time the fleet was launched, and is only accurate to +/-15 minutes.
Battle Updates
These show the results of battles, and come in various forms. The most common ones are given below:

| 11:47:22 - Nov 21 | The population decreased by 2 at Rana 2. |
In this scenario, the population is decreased by one for each Transport sent.)

Invitations
You may be invited to join an Alliance, or to make a Trade Agreement. The invitation to join an alliance includes a link which takes you to a list of its current members with their profile details and locations. This list also gives the URL of their forum, if they have one. Note: To join the alliance, you must click the link immediately below the list to accept the invitation. If you decide you do not wish to join, simply leave the page without doing this.

Note: If you are offered a trade agreement, clicking on the message means you accept the proposal! Only do this if you are sure you wish to accept, as it will cost you 20,000 Astro Dollars, and this action cannot be changed later on.
Random Treasure
Whenever you conquer a planet there is a random chance of finding Astro Dollars or an artifact.
