Biology

Biological Scanners and Autonomic Biosystems are the main fields of research. It increases your range of vision on the Map Screen, allowing you to see other neighboring systems, the planets present, their ownership, Population level and Starbase level.

With every second level of Biology you are able to see an additional 'squares' distance on the map from your original star system. As your fleets can travel to any Star System you can see on the Map Screen, increasing your Biological Science increases the distances your fleets can travel.

Autonomic Biosystems

Once you reach level 25, you will have developed your Autonomic Biosystems far enough, to send fleets anywhere in the galaxy, by using the System ID of the target system instead of its name.

If you use this method of destination targeting to travel to planets outside your visual range, then any reference to the planet or system will use the System ID not the system name, regardless of whether or not you conquer such a planet (it will still be displayed as "[1234] 7" etc).
