Race

At The beginning of each round players have the option to modify his or her Race as to their special attributes. Players can choose to have advantages and disadvantages in certain areas of the game.

When creating a race, a player can choose to have his / her attributes changed in either a positive or negative way. All players start off with an attribute offset equal to zero, players can then decide to increase one attribute and must choose to decrease another to maintain an offset equal to zero.
i.e. the ability to study science can be increased by a percentage, this increase will result in a negative offset, that negative offset must be reduced to zero by choosing a decrease in another attribute i.e. Growth for example.

The factors that can be increased or decreased are:
Growth : How fast your Population will grow
Science : Increases Studies of Science
Culture : Required to Obtain / Colonize new Planets
Production : Increases Production Point output on all planets
Speed : Faster speed decreases Fleet travel time
Attack : Improves Attack Value
Defense : Improves Defense value

Players also have the option to choose to be a:
Trader: Ability to accept trade agreements for free
Or
Banker: When a Banker has a negative Transfer Balance he can transfer Astro Dollars without paying any fees and taxes as long as he stays in a negative Transfer Balance. Bankers gain 4% interest on Astro Dollars in account per day. A Banker with a positive Transfer Balance will pay the 250A$ transfer fee, as well as the 25% Tax. For a transfer from players to the banker, the players will always pay the usual fees and taxes.

Example:
A banker has a Transfer Balance of -800, he can send 799A$ without paying fees or taxes.

Players may also choose to have their first planet with a level 12 Research lab already built.

Whichever choices are made, the offset value must always be equal to zero, and increases in one attribute must be balanced by decreases in another.
