Better than a Destroyer but not as good as a Battleship.
Cruisers are more likely to survive a battle due to their high proportion of defense - this makes them effective at minimizing the overall losses in your fleets (due to CV calculations).

A Cruiser costs 8X that of a Destroyer and their Combat Value is also equal to 8X that of a Destroyer.

Note: A Maths level of minimum 15 is required before you are able to build Cruisers.

Note: You can only have a maximum of 5 fleets in transit at any given time.
